What a txosna is
A txosna is the festival stand of a konpartsa: bar, kitchen, music and its own programme, raised every August by grassroots collectives. They are not commercial bars; the takings sustain each konpartsa's activity through the year and the festival itself.
The konpartsak have organised Aste Nagusia together with the City Council since the festival was recovered in 1978, and the txosna enclosure is their natural ground: concerts, DJs, popular meals and the small-hours atmosphere.
Where they are
The enclosure concentrates in the Arenal (Areatza) and its immediate surroundings, between the riverside promenade and the back of the Arriaga theatre, a step away from the Old Town. The exact spot of each txosna is published by Bilboko Konpartsak on its official map; as soon as the 2026 version is out you will find it here.
