Status of special festival timetables
As of 3 August 2026, the municipal programme confirms 24-hour Metro Bilbao service from 22 to 30 August. Full frequencies and all special Euskotren, tram, Bilbobus and Gautxori services have not yet been located. We do not reuse 2025 timetables. Night metro.
From the airport
The A3247 line connects Bilbao Airport with Bilbao Intermodal and stops in the city centre. Aena publishes the regular service and its frequencies. Check them on the day of travel as they can change.
Metro, tram, train and bus
- Metro: useful for the Old Town, Abando, Moyua, Indautxu, San Mamés, Deusto and Parque Europa.
- Tram: runs along the Arriaga, Abandoibarra, Euskalduna and San Mamés axis.
- Bilbobus and Gautxori: check lines, diversions and waiting times in the council information.
- Train: Abando and Bilbao-Concordia are the central reference points; Bilbao Intermodal handles intercity coaches.
Barik
Barik is the transport card of the Bizkaia Transport Consortium. Check which networks accept it, how to validate it and the current fares on the official source before choosing a ticket.
Driving and the Low Emission Zone
Bilbao's Low Emission Zone covers part of Abando and generally operates Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 20:00, except public holidays. We do not infer here which specific day of Aste Nagusia counts as a holiday: check the council calendar and its exceptions. Festival road closures can also affect streets outside the zone.
If your accommodation is inside the zone, ask before arriving how it handles guest access. Choosing public transport or car parks outside the centre avoids depending on last-minute traffic changes.
